Sheila Joyce Lovelace

Sheila Joyce Lovelace passed away peacefully in her home in Garland, Texas on August 1st, 2025. She was 71 years old. 

 

Sheila was born on September 16th, 1953, to Helen Collins and Jerome Stahl. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri alongside her four siblings, Edith, Woody, Anita, and Merry. After graduating from Bishop DeBourg High School, Sheila married Terry Lovelace and lived on Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, Missouri. After Terry left the Air Force, they started a family and moved to Lansing, Michigan where she worked as a secretary at Thomas Cooley Law School and hosted a weekly jazz show on WLNZ radio. After many years in Michigan, Sheila moved to Pago Pago, American Samoa with her family for the next several years. Then she and Terry moved to Montpellier, Vermont before finally settling in Garland, Texas to be closer to her children. 

Sheila worked many jobs throughout her life, but the one she was most proud of was being a mother to her children, Steven Joseph and Mary Jane. Sheila was an avid reader and loved spending time watching movies, listening to music, and being a cat mom.

Sheila is survived by her husband Terry Lovelace, her son Steven Lovelace, her daughter and son-in-law Mary and Matthew Boeringa, her grandchildren Joseph and Alice Boeringa, and her sisters Anita Halter and Merry Roldan.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Collins and Jerome Stahl, her sister Edith Vaughn, and her brother, Woody Stahl.
