Michael Anderson Johnson Jr.

Michael Anderson Johnson Jr., age 52, passed away on July 15, 2025, at Dallas Regional Medical Center. Born on October 31, 1972, at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas, Michael lived a life marked by love, resilience, and devotion—especially to his beloved son, Anderson.

Michael was preceded in death by his biological father, Michael Anderson Johnson Sr., who passed when Michael was just two years old. He was raised and deeply loved by his mother, Zada Sue Johnson, and his stepfather, Jerry Glen Thompson, whom Michael proudly and wholeheartedly called “Dad” throughout his life.

He is survived by his son, Anderson Michael Glen Johnson, the joy and purpose of his life; his mother and father, Zada and Jerry Thompson; his sister, Amanda Taylor, and brother-in-law, Randy Taylor; and his nephews, Collin and Carter Taylor. He is also lovingly remembered by many friends and extended family whose lives he touched with his generous spirit and open heart.

Michael found meaning in working with his hands and had a deep love for cars and motorcycles. He was known for his authenticity, dedication, and the quiet strength he carried into everything he did. In addition to his work, Michael cherished time spent playing video games with his son and friends—a pastime that brought laughter, bonding, and simple joy.

Though Michael didn’t often speak openly about his faith, he had a deep and personal relationship with the Lord. His walk with God was steady, quiet, and sincere—an anchor in his life. In his love for others, his humility, and his sacrifice for his son, that faith was clearly lived out.

Above all else, Michael was a devoted father. Anderson was not only his greatest pride but also his greatest teacher—through him, Michael experienced a profound love that reflected the grace and mercy of God. Their bond was unbreakable, a testament to Michael’s selflessness and heart.

Michael will be cremated per his wishes, and no formal funeral service will be held. A celebration of his life is planned for late October, near his birthday—a time to honor the life, laughter, and love he shared so freely.

As we grieve his passing, we hold fast to the promise of eternal life through Christ. Michael’s journey on this earth may be complete, but his legacy lives on—in the heart of his son, in the lives of those who knew him, and in the quiet, faithful love he gave.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." – 2 Timothy 4:7

It is difficult for me to say goodbye to the person I considered my best friend. There hasn't been a day, since you passed, that I haven't wanted to call or text you another one of my ridiculous life stories. There will never be another you. I miss you, my friend. And as I promised you, I will always be here for the Bug, if he needs me. Rest in peace. Forever in my heart, Nora
