Robert Philip Maloney was the ninth of ten children born to Joseph Jerome and Ellen Maloney
on June 7, 1961, in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Canada. He passed away on Jan 15, 2026. He
was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Denise, his brother, Charles, many aunts and
uncles and his brother-in-law, Lawrence Webber.
He lived by himself in Dallas for most of his life and then moved to Olney, TX in 2016. He is
survived by seven siblings: Marie Webber of Canada, Teresa Wilcutt (Kenneth) of Texas,
Barbara Power (Owen) of Canada, Patricia Jones (Randall) of Texas, Rose Gohlke (Mark) of
Texas, John Maloney (Eva) of Pembroke Pines, FL, and William Maloney (Beth Ann) of Texas. He
is also survived by his nineteen nephews and nieces and twenty-two great nephews and nieces.
He moved to Texas in 1970 when his father relocated the family there. After high school, Bob
had a long career at Walmart, then was trained to drive a truck for Stevens Transport. He
enjoyed getting to see lots of places and drove for Stevens for many years. He then bought his
own big rig. He sold his truck and retired about 5 years ago.
Bob was a very private person, a loner for most of his life but family was important to him as
was evidenced by the family pictures he had at home and his presence at all of our family
reunions. He had many hobbies, including playing pool and golf. He introduced several of his
nephews to the game of golf. He also liked to read, especially the Bible.
He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at Eastgate Funeral Home on
Saturday, Feb 7, 2026, at 10:00am.
