Giovani Patterson Aguirre

June 3, 1985 – October 10, 2025

With deepest sorrow and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Giovani Aguirre Patterson, who was found deceased in his apartment in Garland, Texas, on October 10, 2025. He is thought to have left us of natural causes.

Giovani was born on June 3, 1985, in Los Angeles, California. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Submarine Sonar Technician aboard the USS Jefferson City, stationed in Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. His quiet strength, discipline, and dedication reflected the deep character and heart he carried throughout his life.

Giovani will forever be remembered for his kind heart, humble nature, and deep love of the ocean. He found peace in surfing and fishing with his ʻohana, joy in his mom’s home-cooked meals, and exuberance in watching UFC fights with his step-dad. Though quiet and private, Giovani’s presence spoke volumes — he was generous, thoughtful, and always willing to help his ʻohana and those around him without expecting anything in return.

He is survived by his loving mother, Kimi Patterson, his step-father, Wendell, and his extended ʻohana —Grandmother Mary, Unko Joey, Kerrick, Timmy, Alex, and his aunties Natalie, Jane, Lisa, Michelle, Darlene, Tammy, and Vickie along with many cousins who loved him dearly. Giovani also had extended ʻohana both in Hawaiʻi and California. One of his favorite hānai brothers was Kiko Napeahi, with whom he shared many laughs and the kind of mischievous, harmless doings that only true brothers could get into.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness, the love and memories he shared will forever remain in our hearts. A cremation and small receiving service will take place in Garland, Texas, after which Giovani will be brought home to Hawaiʻi to be honored, celebrated, and laid to rest in the blessed waters of Hawaiʻi that he loved so much.

A hui hou, our sweet Giovani....
May your spirit rest peacefully in the realm of Kahiki, surrounded by the embrace of the ocean, nā kūpuna, and the boundless aloha of those who love you.
