Judy Lynn Bouska passed away on March 25, 2025, in Richardson, Texas, after a short illness. She was born on December 13, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, to William J. Bouska and Rose Patril Bouska.
A lifelong resident of the Dallas area, Judy made her home in Garland, Texas. She dedicated her professional life to education, serving the Dallas Independent School District as a health teacher, physical education instructor, counselor, and basketball coach. Her passion for
athletics extended beyond the classroom—Judy was a gifted athlete who excelled in basketball and softball, earning numerous trophies and accolades.
Judy's love of sports continued with golf, which she played avidly for many years. In her later years, she found joy in playing bridge. A devoted fan of music and theater, she especially cherished the works of Barbra Streisand and Liza Minnelli. For over 25 years, she attended the Dallas Summer Musicals with her niece Sharla; her favorite production was "The Phantom of the Opera." If one song could capture her spirit, it would be “What a Wonderful World.”
Judy was a devout Catholic and a loving sister, extraordinary aunt, and exceptional friend. She had a deep affection for animals—first cats and later dogs—whom she lovingly referred to as her children.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Robert W. Bouska of Balch Springs; nieces Shannon McCay of Mesquite, Stacy Gangloff of Dallas, and Sharla Lewis (husband Kevin) of Wills Point; great-nephews Richard McCay of Conroe and Nick Gangloff of Dallas; and great-niece Sarah Nelms of Royse City.
She will be laid to rest on April 11, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (600 S. Jupiter Rd) in Richardson, Texas. The rosary will begin at 1:00 p.m.; with the Memorial Mass following at 1:30 p.m. with Father Stephen Ingram officiating.
May her memory bring peace and comfort to all who knew and loved her.
