Charles Martin Miller

Charles Martin Miller was born Dec 3,1949 in Rotan, Texas to Oren F Miller & Bernadine
Johnson.


Being raised in Jayton, he was a proud Jaybird, graduating with his class of 18 in1969.
Charles proudly served in the US Army from 1969-1972 with a tour of duty in Vietnam from
1970-1971.


In 1973, Charles was introduced to his true love, Denise Milligan & was given permission by
her dad to dance with her. This was the first of many dances together throughout their
51years of marriage. Just 7 months after that first dance, they married on September 8,
1973, in Athens, Texas.


Shahala Alicia, their beautiful daughter was born in1974. Shahala has always & forever
been his pride & joy. He was so proud of his “Punkin”, showing off her pictures to anyone &
everyone.


Charles loved his hunting & looked forward to every deer season & going back home to
Jayton, not only to hunt, but for the time also spent with his family.
After the past several years of health struggles, Charles left this world pain free & at peace,
leaving his wife Denise of The Colony, TX & daughter, Shahala of Wichita Falls, TX to
cherish his heart & soul, to tell his stories & keep laughter in their hearts.


Charles is survived by brother, Earl Brownlee & wife Cheryl of Lytle TX, sister, Kristi
Milkovich & husband John of Port Orchard, WA, brother -in- laws Vick Burk, Wayne &
Dennis Milligan & sister-in-law Jeanne Spraberry & spouses, 12 nieces & nephews, 22 great
nieces & nephews & 9 wonderful cousins.


He was proceeded in death by his parents, Grandparents, Luther & Vada Johnson, Charlie
& Gracie Miller, sisters Becky Burk, Colleen Boswell and brothers Jackie Lawley & Tommy
Miller.


Celebration of life will be held graveside at Jayton Cemetery at a later date.

My dearest friends...I am so sorry to see Charles passed. I can imagine him sitting on the back porch in heaven razzing me for being Navy and talking about his beautiful bride and daughter. Big hugs to you all during this difficult time. (Charles, the back porch, britches, and his suspenders...still makes me giggle. Hehehe)
