Kamia “Mia” Keyshawn Coleman Smith
Kamia “Mia” Keyshawn Coleman Smith departed this world and entered into the spiritual realm, on October 4, 2024. Her death was unexpected, and she will be forever fondly remembered for her beautiful, welcoming smile and absolute loving nature.
Mia was born on April 22, 1978, in Harbor City, California. She graduated from Chaffey High School in 1996 where she excelled in athletics. Mia was a sprinter, making her mark running the 100M, 200M and the 4 X 100M relay. She was a guard on the basketball team with unprecedented, tough defense. She also was a student of Kenpo Karate where she earned a 3rd-degree purple belt.
Mia was a loving wife and mother. In 1998, the romance began when she first dated her husband, Michael Smith. A motorcycle ride and Boston Market dinner led to a first kiss that in Michael’s words, “we saw the most beautiful radiant glittering array of lights and internally felt an explosion of kinetic energy”. The couple was married in November of 2001 and raised five beautiful children, plus a stepchild. Her family remembers her lessons in love, compassion, and how to be empathetic to one another and all of those who are around us.
Mia’s cooking will be missed. She had the uncanny ability to duplicate any recipe. She knew all of the ingredients and she took pride in making her meals very special. She loved taking care of her children, husband, and anyone who came to visit. She had a heart of pure hold and loving angelic energy.
