Antonio Thomas Elizondo

Antonio Thomas Elizondo
February 10, 1997 – October 5, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antonio Thomas (Tony) Elizondo, who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on October 5, 2024 at the age of 27. Tony is survived by his loving parents, Eva, Mauro, and Blanca Elizondo and his sister, Elisa.

Tony was an adventurous spirit with a passion for motorcycles, firearms, and the outdoors. In true Elizondo fashion, Tony was an excellent cook, as skilled with a sous vide as he was with a smoker. Tony wore many hats across his professional life. At the time of his death, he was working as a firearm instructor and range safety officer while pursuing his degree in Automotive Field Service Operations.

A catholic mass in honor of Tony will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Eastgate Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be directed to Hearts and Bones Rescue (https://give.heartsandbonesrescue.org).

Though his life was cut short, Tony left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

My name is Yeon-Woo Park and I was a friend of Tony's from South Korea. We became friends six years ago when I was exchange students at Weber State University for a year. The camping trip to Yellowstone with Tony and the other three Korean exchange students remains one of my most cherished memories from my time in the United States. Tony created unforgettable experiences with his amazing van, which he had personally modified, and his exceptional camping skills. He was a reliable friend, always kind, warm, and able to share sincere words of comfort. Even after returning to Korea, I kept in touch with Tony. Just last month, when Texas was featured on TV, I thought of him and reached out. I had hoped to visit Texas someday and spend time with him again. It is hard to believe the sad news I received today. I have also shared this news with our friends in Korea who loved Tony, and they are all mourning his loss. Please know that even from afar, in Korea, there are friends who will forever remember Tony's warmth. With deepest sympathy, Yeon Woo Park

I am saddened to hear the world lost this bright light. I did not know Tony well, but got closer when he recently repaired my car. He was a walking encyclopedia of information and a gentle soul who prized honesty in his craft. I wish I had more time to get to know him. So very sorry for your loss Eva, Mauro, Blanca and all other family members.

My condolences to Tony's family and friends. I met Tony online through a firearms community and he was a vibrant, fun soul. He enjoyed sharing his guitar riffs and melodies with me so that I could choose my favorite one. We liked to share music with each other and play video games together. He was one of the very few people that highly encouraged me to pursue my interest in getting my motorcycle license and my first bike. I appreciated his enthusiasm for life. He is dearly missed. Really gone too soon.
